Vanishing Point follows a day in the life of a proofreader for a New York corporate accounting firm as he struggles with isolation, mental illness and desire. He decides to take a day off from work and wander through the city. He is a voyeur projecting his longings onto all that he encounters.
Intercut with the narrative are interviews with people of different ages and backgrounds. These interviews function as a kind of Greek chorus commenting upon and providing insight into the struggles of the character in the narrative.
